How to locate you Observing Self

Healing of all kinds, collective and personal, invites you to connect with yourself. For you to get to know yourself, your inner world — and how it dances and is impacted by the outer one, especially in the case of collective healing.

This connection with self has many layers and takes many forms. At the heart of all of them is awareness.

To connect with yourself is to observe, notice, feel different parts of your experience; to become aware of them. And ideally, over time, develop a relationship with yourself — with your mind and body — that when discomfort arises, when intense emotions come alive, you’re better able to notice them and care for them in a way that doesn’t lead you to shut down or you throw them on someone else, but instead work with them constructively, lovingly.

At the crux of all of this is awareness. If you’ve joined me in other meditations, you know I always start them by setting up your connection with your observing self — the part of you that sits in a seat of observation, a seat of awareness within yourself — able to notice and take in what you see in your inner world.

In this meditation I share a practice that helps you explore your observing self. Better understand what it is and how to locate that part of you within yourself.
